The latest budget from Prez Trump refocuses spending priorities on project vital to Americans and eliminates a great deal of waste and bureaucracy. Accordingly, money and grant funding that has served to finance Kansas City streetcar has been slashed.
To wit . . .
THE STREETCAR BOOM UNDER PREZ OBAMA HAS NOW BEEN CUT BY PREZ TRUMP'S NEW BUDGET!!! THE KEY COMPONENT OF THE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR AND ITS EXPANSION IS NOT TARGETED BY PREZ TRUMP AND THE GOP!!!
Like it or not, this is the least controversial of all Prez Trump's financial moves and something that Conservatives have advocated for years. TIGER grants have been the building blocks of the streetcar and now their use is under fire by the new administration.

Nevertheless, the streetcar funding now at FULL STOP under the new budget should give Kansas City residents, voters and politicos a moment of pause about the viability of a "touristy frou-frou" transit that has dominated the local discourse and was prominently featured as the centerpiece of so many development schemes inside and around the loop.
