CELEBRATE!!! KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR RIDERSHIP NUMBERS SPRING FORWARD FOLLOWING WINTER PLUNGE!!!
Boasting from toy train advocates deserves a bit of skepticism . . .
KCStreetcar: March #kcstreetcar ridership numbers are in...a 46% increase from Feb. #RideKC
The streetcar claims 183,005 ryders in March 2017 by way of their counting methodology that has been widely criticized given that UNLIKELY local data outpaces bigger, better places like Seattle, Washington D.C. and Dallas.
Still . . .
THE BIG 12 DIDN'T BOOST THE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR NUMBERS PAST LAST YEAR'S HIGHS!!!
The highlight of the streetcar in 2016 . . .
Total Ridership for August 2016 - 204,251
Total Ridership for July 2016 - 233,683
And so, one of the biggest crowds Kansas City will see this year mostly avoided the streetcar and didn't enjoy new connections to Union Station or the City Market as much as Summer crowds last year celebrated the novelty of the ride.
Sadly, so far only TKC and our blog community has offered critical analysis of these local facts while the rest of MSM is content to cheer on this effort that's earning consistently lower returns despite a great deal of hype.
Developing . . .
