KANSAS CITY 2017 MURDER COUNT STANDS AT 20 SO FAR: WILL LOCAL HOMICIDE SPIKE PERSIST DESPITE PREZ TRUMP PLEDGE TO MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN???

Despite the transfer of power in the nation's capital, the rate of Kansas City killing continues to rise over last year's historic increase.

President Trump mentioned Chicago killing but Kansas City is also one of the areas responsible for the recent national increase in violent crime.

Still, the focus on support for police has elicited celebration and concern on both sides of the aisle . . .

STL Today: Trump refocusing on protecting police as some in minority communities worry about repercussions

The Hill: Trump: Budget will boost military and law enforcement spending, 'do more with less'

The Guardian: Police chiefs object to Trump's efforts to involve them in immigrant deportations

Again, none of this has impacted Kansas City recent rate of killing given that our 2017 murder count has once again pulled ahead of last year's tragic number as we confront nicer Springtime weather and more outdoor opportunities for violence.

There are always a great many theories and perspectives on this trend but tonight we want to put the question to our blog community . . .

WILL PREZ TRUMP PROMISES TO STAND UP FOR POLICE HELP CURB KANSAS CITY'S CONTINUED HOMICIDE SPIKE???

More info on the latest instances of local violence and death . . .

KSHB: Highway shooting kills father of five

KMBC: 1 person shot, another person stabbed near 73rd and Oak

Fox4: Friend wonders if man’s success in Kansas City, Kan., was motive to kill him

KSHB: Victim ID'd in homicide at 99th and Walnut

You decide . . .
