Social media word being passed around seems to indicate this was a special needs dude who did get some help from youngsters but also endured a tragic beat down.

SHP (Supportive Housing Program) Resident Attacked on the Plaza Saturday night - We must take these teens who are roaming our neighborhoods seriously "Well, people kept telling me this would happen. I was mobbed at the #PlazaFountain. 100 or so kids all grouped up around me so nobody could tell what was going on. Broke parts of the bike, ripped the trunk bag off, speakers, phone, wallet. When I got off the bike to try to get the bag back and they found out I walk about as well as a turtle flies, some of the young folks started to get physical, running up behind me and pushing me down. luckily some of the girls took pity on me and I got much of my stuff back. Phone (locked sans case) wallet sans cash, keys, Map my ride even got the running around the fountain bit. t does however think that I grew bigger wheels and tires and went cross country to get home. I should feel let down by humanity - but there were two kids that I made eye contact with - one was the girl that helped get my stuff back, The other was a 15 year old boy that walked beside me for a bit to make sure I was okay. That made me feel better."
Remember that last year MSM noted that theology students endured attack near the Plaza along with several over instances and overall the violence in this area show no sign of slowing down. Sadly, violent teens on the Plaza returning when the weather hits around 70 degrees, which it did on Saturday, is a trend that continues despite youth programs, pizza parties or even police crackdowns.
