Screech Visits Standfords

A note from our pal Craig . . .

Dustin 'Screech' Diamond Returns To Stanfords This Weekend

Who would have ever thought 'Screech' Dustin Diamond, would be surrounded by controversy. The once child star and main man in the long running hit tv show, 'SAVED BY THE BELL' slowly became known as a bad boy in the tv/comedy world a few years back.
He did everything from punching out Horshack in 'Celebrity Boxing' to constant confrontations in his two seasons on Celebrity Fit Club. Recently Dustin and his lady were in a bar in his hometown, and were corned by a group of drunken bar crowd people. They pushed his girl, and started a fight with her. Dustin jumped in to help her, she gave him her pocket knife, he swung it at the group to back them off. One of the bar guys got nicked on the finger, a paper cut...the bar called the cops to break up the disturbance. The guy who got the finger cut decided 'hey this is a famous person I can sue him and get some big money.' So he pressed charges on Dustin. It resulted in a weekends in county jail for Diamond and a fine. All over the top, the video clearly shows the bar guys attacking Diamond and his lady, but the presence of the pocket knife got Diamond in trouble. So it became big news. Dustin now talks about it in his stand up comedy shows.

Diamond has had a long career in tv/film and now comedy. He hosted 'Worlds Dumbest' did Conan, was in many movies including 'Dickie Robersts: Child Star' with David Spade and 'Made.' Dustin has become quite a good stand up comic over the years doing shows from Vegas to New York and now in KC at Stanfords. Dustin talks about his career and makes fun of himself as well. He employees the 'George Carlin' style of catwalking on stage with his material. It's a fun show and the crowds love it.

Dustin is now at peace with himself, married and focusing on stand up and now several new films. Diamond has been coming to Kansas City since the end of his tv series and his comedy has grown with his age. See Dustin Diamond this weekend at Stanfords, Village West, Legends with Richard Montano. He will be at the club Friday and Saturday 745/945. Tickets available by calling the club, 913 400 7500 or online stanfordscomedyclub.com.

Coming up for Valentines and next week, Adam Newman, the new hot star of shows like @Midnight and HBO's Silicon Valley. Also Jordon Rock, yes the younger brother of Chris Rock, who stars on Love, Netflix.
