TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY SMALL BIZ RAGE: RIVER MARKET STREETCAR CRISIS CONTINUES AMID PARKING CRACKDOWN!!!
The toy train has made life harder for business owners in the River Market despite promises of jobs, consumer traffic and economic benefit that has FAILED to materialize.
Instead, the only thing local small biz people are seeing is increased regulation from City Hall in order to make sure the toy train streetcar has the right of way at all times.
To wit . . .
KANSAS CITY RIVER MARKET SMALL BIZ OWNERS RAGE AGAINST THE ONGOING PARKING CRACKDOWN!!!
Here's the word . . .
"City is putting up the last of the 2 hour parking limit signs in River Market. The streetcar is despised by the merchants & residents, because of the parking problems the trolley created. Since employees have no place to park, this will drive more businesses out of the River Market area."
A look at 12th & Oak in action . . .
Sadly, the grand visions of amateur urban planners haven't prevailed given amazingly low streetcar ridership during the Winter months and ongoing complaints from biz along the line.
