TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION BACKTRACK!!!! FEAR 2017 ROCK ISLAND CORRIDOR FAIL!!!

After a tense behind the scenes budget battle and amid a costly ongoing crisis at the jail, Jackson County continues to pay out TONS OF CASH for a rail project that has FAILED to materialize or show any significant amount of progress in much the same way that most of the voting public has already abandoned their New Year's efforts to push away from the buffet line and trim down by returning to the gym.

We've talked about this uncomfortable project off and on for a couple of years while the fees and payments pile up . . . Every once in awhile a bored newsie will round-up the deets for a voting public that loves the idea of rail transit but NEVER wants to confront local government about slush funds.

Here's a quick peek at part of the grand plan for the Rock Island Corridor and one in a series of photos that has already proven effective in generating income for politically connected insiders at the Courthouse . . .

And then . . . Here's the overgrown reality of Rock Island Corridor before the winter freeze . . .

Accordingly . . .

WILL NEWBIE EXEC FRANK WHITE HAVE THE POLITICAL COURAGE TO CANCEL THE ROCK ISLAND CORRIDOR HYPE OR WILL HE CONTINUE THE EXPENSIVE WASTE OF RESOURCES?!?!

They say that he's the most popular politico in Kansas City but he has yet to take on any project other than damage control or publicity stunts . . .

At this point, the imaginary train effort is the epitome of taxpayer funded vaporware and the new administration of Gov. Greitens in Jeff City might be helpful in bringing the Courthouse gravy trail to a full stop.

Still, there has to be some local effort to push back this rail transit pipe dream that mostly exists on paper.

You decide . . .
