TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! MONDAY MORALITY CRISIS: ALLEGATIONS OF COCAINE FOR SEX COMPLICATE HIGH-PROFILE KANSAS CITY RAPE CASE!!!
We're posting this one as a BLIND ITEM and warning that speculation in the comments is always wrong . . . Still, this question of ethics and the law really hold more interest and impact for Kansas City residents.
The story . . .
LOCAL GOSSIP CONTENDS THAT A COKE FOR SEX IS THE CRUX OF THE CONFLICT IN A RECENT RAPE CASE PLAYED OUT IN KANSAS CITY HEADLINES!!!
And this brings us to our crisis of conscience . . .
DO COCAINE RUMORS AMONG LOCALS COUNT AS EVIDENCE IN THIS LEGAL BATTLE OR SHOULD WE RESPECT THE RIGHT OF CLUB-HOPPERS TO ENJOY NOSE CANDY WITHOUT FEAR OF RAPE?!?
Thankfully, the days of blaming a rape victim for style of dress or sexual history are long gone . . . But we're not sure if judges and juries are as forgiving when it comes to allegations of casual drug use. The progressive and probably correct opinion is that even alleged coke users deserve to enjoy their illicit pastime free from sexual violence. But let's be realists, an argument admitting the flaws of a victim and forgoing a perception of "innocence" is harder to make . . . Word to Jodie Foster and Leo Rossi for their dramatic club life benchmark portrayal of this debate in The Accused - An HBO teaching moment for all of Gen-X.
Coincidentally . . . This high-profile case will be just as expensive for a local defense team to push given that a beloved institution was recently put on the auction block in the midst of this legal trouble.
Again, just to reiterate and keep our blog community out of court . . . THIS IS A BLIND ITEM AND ANY GUESSING ABOUT IDENTITIES OF THE INNOCENT, GUILTY OR THOSE WHO ENJOY COKE IS WRONG!!!
What we want to accomplish with this post is a simple reminder to our blog community that the backstory on headlines is a lot more complicated than newsies are allowed to communicate and the question of guilt is much more complex when neither victim nor defendant is completely innocent amid allegations of a serious crime.
You decide . . .
