Kansas City Snowflake Week In Review
Mainstream media news is almost completely mostly white in Kansas City and so it makes sense that this public TV roundup reflects that reality . . . Advocating for inclusion in this otherwise snoozy chat that only garnered about 35 views in the past 24 hours would be an exercise in futility and kinda pointless. The mainstream media private playground isn't really worth intruding upon . . .
Instead, it's important to know that there are other outlets like What's Up KC . . . And further down the media food chain . .. FB Live can be far more interesting given that somebody could get shot, beaten or tortured during the broadcast.
Still, this conversation is worth a peek if only to realize that newsies are only human and suffer from fading influence just like everybody else amid the down of social media dominance. More importantly, it's always fun to check the Kansas City conventional wisdom and party line just to get a sense of the talking points that local City Hall consultants have devised for newsies to parrot.
Check the description . . .
Nick Haines, Jim McLean, Barbara Shelly, Mike Ferguson and Dave Helling preview the new Kansas and Missouri legislative sessions which are likely to include debates over right to work in Missouri and medicaid expansion in Kansas. They also discuss whether KCMO police should be state run or locally controlled, the ongoing speculation about a Brownback departure and Missouri's concealed carry law.
Take a look at the clip:
You decide . . .
