TKC EXCLUSIVE SUNDAY PUSH BACK!!! PITCH QUESTIONNAIRE FEATURES SELFISH JOHNSON COUNTY, KANSAS DEMANDS FOR MORE KANSAS CITY TAXPAYER TOY TRAIN STREETCAR SPENDING!!!

To the detriment of the tax base and shifting priorities toward tourism over infrastructure, denizens of the Golden Ghetto constantly advocate for more Kansas City tourist attractions as long as they aren't picking up the check.

To wit . . .

CHECK THIS EPIC PUSH BACK AGAINST THE PITCH PUBLISHING JOCO DEMANDS ON KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS!!!

This isn't just an e-mail . . . But some serious questions posed by Kansas City insiders directly to the last remaining editorial crew at The Pitch for their civic cheerleading by way of an interloper who doesn't live in town.

Like it or not, regionalism is a lie and just like JoCo wouldn't want KCMO denizens dictating policy in their neighborhoods. KCMO finally seems fed up with JoCo suburbanites calling the shots in this community.

Checkit:

"This lady is a KCTV channel 5 producer that lives in Overland Park. Her TV station is in Kansas.

The issue: She thinks we should destroy excellent neighborhoods (Brookside and Waldo) and current businesses to expand the toy train for a new nightlife (entertainment district - Westport and P&L).

The Pitch asks her questions about KC. Why aren't they asking her questions pertaining to Overland Park? Because Overland Park lacks public transportation or any discussion of putting a toy train in their city. I would guess since she works in Kansas and previously lived in Waldo she moved so she would not have to pay the earnings tax.

One other thought: She kinda exposes the purpose of the toy train as nothing more than a way to promote nightlife. Maybe the Plaza should be concerned, given that all they need is more problems that their weekend crowds attract."

Given the downward spiral of ridership trends . . . Obviously the streetcar as a tourist magnet simply doesn't work when the weather isn't nice. And so, while the patronage of the Golden Ghetto is appreciated . . . They're not really neighborhood stakeholders and voters are starting to realie that media's urge to cater to this crowd undermines the self-determination of Kansas City.

You decide . . .
