This week City Hall is set to debate the same old topics . . . Nelson-Atkins expansion ruining surrounding neighborhoods, a pipe-dream weed ordinance, the doomed hotel project and so many other topics that we've talked to death . . .
Here's something just a bit more fun . . .
COUNCILMEMBER KATY SHIELDS SPONSORS A KICK-ASS ORDINANCE THAT WILL LOOSEN THE MISSOURI STRIP CLUB CRACKDOWN THAT HAS PRETTY MUCH KILLED THE EMBATTLED BOOTY BIZ IN KANSAS CITY!!!
Read the deets of 160959 and realize that this is the most important part . . .
"That the public is protected if the City leaves to the State of Missouri the most detailed and stringent enforcement of the State’s rules, while allowing the City to regulate local conditions in a rational and economically reasonable way."
If this passes . . . Local authorities will most likely back to simply checking building codes and not much else. To be fair, Missouri's (mostly ignored) NO LAP DANCE CLAUSE is still in effect but this bit of legislation offers some hope that Kansas City police will focus their efforts on more important topics than the antics of big booty strippers garnering cash from lonely dudes one dollar at a time.
