TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! PETITION TO RECALL LEE'S SUMMIT COUNCILMAN CHRIS MORENO CERTIFIED!!!
Once again the career path of a Kansas City metro politician confronts a major challenge in the aftermath of a policy disagreement that quickly turned into a vicious personal dispute.
Accordingly . . .
THE PETITION EFFORT AGAINST COUNCILMAN CHRIS MORENO PROVED SUCCESSFUL, WAS RECENTLY CERTIFIED AND NOW MOVES TOWARD THE BALLOT NEXT YEAR!!!
Our blog community was FIRST to report the launch of the petition and the hotly debated question of Lee's Summit Council contracts. Councilman Moreno is still pushing that issue forward and worked to get the Jackson County Sherrif's office involved.
But here's the real deal . . .
Chris Moreno started out as a strong advocate of Democratic Party union values and quickly worked his way pretty high up the political food chain in Missouri. For better or worse, he moved on to consulting and alienated just about every politico in Jackson County in a divisive election dispute that dragged on far too long and wasn't at all productive. He did a minor bit of re-branding and made a very sincere effort to focus on his Conservative values and faith out in the suburbs . . . Did you know that, despite the claims of so many pollsters, Mr. Moreno was the only guy in the Kansas City area to go on record and predict a Trump victory on Darla Jaye's show a year before any other pundit in the metro? But his passionate, some say combative, style simply overwhelmed the suburbanites in a way that was far more "in your face" than even the slap-fighting that typically accompanies Courthouse politics. The blood feud with Councilmember Diana Forte was the tipping point for Councilman Moreno and kinda spoiled a recent, inspiring election victory that was won by way of church friends and a lot of hard work campaigning in his community.
And here were are . . .
There is not a person in the KCMO area who can deny that Councilman Moreno is a hard worker with a vast knowledge politics, procedural rules and election issues . . . But here's the lesson that holds a lot of meaning in the Trump era . . . Councilman Moreno's ability to inspire animosity in his political adversaries resulted in bitter feud that's uncharacteristic and out of place given the low stakes of suburbanite politics.
Sent our way but TKC TIPSTERS telling us that "sh*ts about to get real" for the Councilman, Confirmed by the Lee's Summit website. Check the latest progress of the petition now moving forward:
