Newbie legislator Tony Miller was shut out of budget talks as a clique of a half-dozen legislators met without him. Insiders are calling the legality of this move into question. Team Frank is threatening to go to the media with these alleged Missouri Sunshine Law violations and THE KICK-ASS TKC blog community is the FIRST STOP for the complaints if this deal doesn't get done quickly. The Kansas City Star doesn't have a reporter covering these meetings, they're too short-staffed and have backed off the budget ruckus in a big way or at least they only plan to print presser copy and mostly ignore the hot mess.
The Legislature got SMACKED DOWN with Sunshine Law violation threats yesterday and have now schemed to meet in groups of 4. Newsflash: The quorums of committees STILL run afoul of Missouri Sunshine rules & regs according to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS.
Meanwhile, the MEGA-BUCKS COUNTY ATTORNEY isn't saying a peep and his inaction is making insiders angry on both sides of this debate.
