Kansas City Toy Train Activists Confront Voter Confusion With Clay Chastain's Bigger, Faster And Citywide Streetcar Petition Initiative

Kansas City's most controversial transit activist is reaching out to a far greater constituency than a small group of politically connected toy train enthusiasts and that has seemingly caused panic among their efforts.

Check this testy response to a note about Midtown streetcar expansion slated for 2017 . . .

"No, not the Chastain petition that’s circulating (again)."

Meanwhile, Activist Clay Chastain is already touting a supportive reception to his plans . . . Consider:

- Clay Chastain's petition will give voters across the city a say in the development not another repeat of the gerrymandered, crooked and smallish TDD vote that was universally panned by tax fighters and critics throughout the nation.

- Clay Chastain includes more detailed incorporation with rapid bus transit.

- Clay Chastian plans have more inclusion for the east side rather than the Plaza/UMKC focused designs of the smaller group of activists and their far more limited vote.

In conclusion . . .

LIKE IT OR NOT, THE CLAY CHASTAIN STREETCAR EXTENSION PLAN THREATENS THE TDD REDUX EFFORT WITH MORE SUPPORT FROM VOTERS ACROSS THE CITY!!!

City Council still wants to evaluate the streetcar after a year running and neither one of these efforts have earned the support of 12th & Oak so far.

Developing . . .
