Streetcar Ryder FAIL
Tony, this is a good article about what happened to Atlanta's streetcar when they started charging $1 a ride. They also had to put in security to protect passengers. This is a good example of what will most likely happen to Kansas City if they started charging people to ride the streetcar when they'd rather just drive their cars.
And yet the people who depend on the bus system to get to and from work never hesitate to pay the $1.50 fare. Just the streetcar people seem to be the fickle ones.
But if you look at this chart, even the daily KCATA ridership numbers are going down in Kansas City.
