BIGGEST DEBT PACKAGE IN KANSAS CITY HISTORY PASSES!!! GO BONDS 1-2-3 WIN!!!

Tax fighters weren't able to move the dial among the local electorate and a surprising turnout helped sink KCMO further into debt.

Here's the damage:

Question 1 - $600 million for streets, bridges and sidewalks, passed by 67%

Question 2 - $150 million for flood control passed by 61%

Question 3 - $50 million for KCMO building upgrades and a new animal shelter earned 67% approval.

Doggie lovers earning their victory is kinda fun and it'll be nice to see animal lovers fight with far more connected politicos over the cash for the next few years. Meanwhile, a great deal more borrowing and higher property taxes for Kansas City is certainly in store while infrastructure improvement always make for a great campaign promise but rarely materialize over time.

The 40 year time line on these taxes won't make for any grandiose changes any time soon.

Developing . . .
