A petition that collected 1835 signatures is now on schedule for a CITYWIDE vote that could change the face of transit in Kansas City IF the council decides to put it on the ballot.
"Clay Chastain’s streetcar plan, which has enough signatures to get on a ballot, would ask voters to approve a 3/8 -cent citywide sales tax for 25 years to help fund a $1 billion, 26-mile streetcar system, building on Kansas City’s 2.2-mile streetcar starter route."
As Mr. Chastain revealed FIRST ON TKC . . .
His plan "will not only transform the city's "Touristy Frou Frou" streetcar line into a rapid citywide rail system to more benefit the working man, but it also lets citywide voters decide the merits of the plan."
You decide . . .
